About

Background

Kaung Phyo Wai

Third-year EECS student at UC Berkeley, transferred from De Anza College with dual associate degrees in CS and Mathematics (3.94 GPA).

My work spans from co-founding Geek Squad Studio — building software infrastructure for communities in Myanmar and Thailand — to leading a $10M+ fundraising initiative for refugees displaced by conflict. I believe technology should serve people, especially those who need it most.

When I'm not coding, I teach. Whether tutoring linear algebra, coaching young programmers in San Francisco, or training government officials on digital literacy — I find purpose in making knowledge accessible.
